Double Estate Rum from the Indian Ocean (Mauritius) – Port Cask Finish – Artist Gordon Mitchell “Trash”

Scots has always been adventurers and travellers for commerce, fishing, trading and discovery. McExplorer are some of these treasures picked up from faraway lands in the Indian Ocean. Exclusive rums matured in American Oak then finished in ruby port casks. The rare association of two traditions, the Agricole Rum French style, the first press of the sugar cane juice distilled and the English style of a molasses rum distilled, from two historic rum estates in Mauritius. Matured for 8 & 12 years in bourbon and port casks. An average of 10 years old. The painting of Gordon Mitchell, from the Edinburgh School of Art, beautifully illustrates this taste for travel, adventure with hints of humour.

Tasting Notes : Herbal and fresh at first with delicate sugar cane juice followed by the rich fruit, chocolate, goji berries and amber sugar cane and fruit cake notes.
