Teaninich 2014 – Cask Strength 11 ans – 58.1% - Bourbon First Fill cask –Built in 1819 by Hugh Munro and his brother, wealthy landlords in the north of Scotland. A distillery that is used as a Northern Highland base for many a blend due to it’s rich and complex flavour profile. In 1933 the distillery is sold to DCL, and increases in 1970 from 4 to 6 pot stills. Caol Ila 2015 – 10 ans – 48.5% - Rum Cask – The largest of the Islay distilleries on the west coast facing Isle of Jura. Caol Ila meaning the Sound of Islay, produces an elegant peated malt. Built in 1846 by Hector Henderson, the distillery changed ownership twice up to 1920 , when it’s owner, a Glasgow blender named Bulloch went bankrupt. Caol Ila re-opened after the second world war and was rebuilt in 1972. Distillation restarted in 1974. Nose : Barbecue, peat chimney, mineral, salty and mango. Body : Lovely ash peat smokiness, lemon zest, honey and spices and freshness.Finish : Soft, sweet, spices, smokiness of peat and wood charring
